Kevin Bales has been invited by GACO to talk about the links between money laundering and slavery and human trafficking.  He will be inviting discussion on how  compliance can thwart those links.

Kevin is a Professor of Contemporary Slavery at the University of Nottingham. He is co-author of the Global Slavery Index and co-founder and previously President of Free the Slaves, the US Sister Organisation of Anti-Slavery International, the world's oldest human rights organisation. He wrote his first book Disposable People; New Slavery in the Global Economy in 1999. He has since authored seven further publications and has been recognised for his work with numerous prizes. His most recent recognition came when he was appointed the Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) in the 2017 New Years Honours list.
